Intel making preparations to produce a new 6 Core Processor. Scheduled this coming September 14, Intel will produce the 6 Core Processor, named Dunnington.
The 6 Core Processor, Dunnington, plan would be launched with three new models, Xeon X7460, E7450 and L7455. The model of Xeon X7460 produced the speed of 2.67GHz, 130W TDP (Thermal Design Power), 16MB L3 cache. The model of E7450 with 2.4 GHz and 90W TDP (Thermal Design Power). The model of L7455 produced the speed of 2.13Ghz, 65W TDP (Thermal Design Power). more…»
Although Intel said has cancelled Pentium E1000 single core series, but Intel continued by launching Celeron 400 series, like Intel Celeron 430 1.8 GHz and Intel Celeron 440 2.0 GHz series.
This Intel Celeron 400 series had single core only and L2 cache memory only 512 KB. The different with the previous intel celeron which only had FSB 533, the intel celeron 400 series had FSB 800 that made it resemble Pentium E2100 and Core 2 Duo E4000an series. As for the range of price will be less than 60 US dollar.
Intel Celeron 400 series will be faced with AMD single core processor that is Sempron and AMD 64. Look at the early benchmark that apparently promising enough.
In the near future, AMD will launch newest dual core processor, Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3GHz/1MB L2×2 on Q1 2007. Beforehand the processor that named Athlon 64 FX-64, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ with 90nm process had TDP 89W and 125W. AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ also the processor with the last city code.
Moreover, for Brisbane 65nm family, also gotten AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ 2.7GHz/512KB L2×2 and Athlon 64 X2 5400+ 2.8GHz/512KB L2×2 with 512KB L2×2 not 1MB L2×2 like 90nm, so 65nm type increased by speed 100MHz higher to match the achievement reduction because of cache memory reduction. TDP Athlon X2 5200+ decreased from 76W to 65W and for Athlon X2 5400+ from 89W to 76W.
This coming January, Intel will launch the third type of 4 core processors as the ambition to overcome his competitor, Advanced Micro devices (AMD).
This coming January took place in the sale exhibition Las Vegas, Intel will release Core 2 Quad chip for high end desktop. Quad core Xeon 5300 server chip and Core 2 Extreme QX6700 gamer chip will be released in January 2007.
Intel planned to release 4 newest Conroe processors.
The slowest and cheapest processor E4300 at this time has circled in some website in Europe. E4300 processor speed 2 x 1.8 GHz, cache memory 2 MB, socket 775 and the price 163 US dollar. The other faster version is E6400, speed 2 GHz but the price still not known.
The Intel Conroe E4300 and E6400 official launching planned on January 21 2007.
AMD secretly launches 2 new processors that is 5400+ and 5600+. The two processors 5400+ and 5600+ had speed 2.8 GHz. The difference only on cache memory, where 5400+ had 512 KB per core and total 1 MB, whereas 5600+ had 1 MB per core and total 2MB, or same as FX-62 and FX-72 processor.
The price of 5400+ series 485 US dollar whereas 5600+ 505 US dollar. This price to bridge between 5200+ price 403 US dollar and FX-62 price 713 US dollar. Although being not yet known whether this product already 65nm or still 90nm, the possibility of this product still used 90nm remembered the generation of X2 65nm just will go out on Q1 2007.
Nvidia ready to launching nForce 600 series at mid of November. Nvidia nForce 600 series covering nForce 680i SLI, nForce 650i SLI and nForce 650i Ultra, all of this in Intel land-grid-array 775 socket.
The top series is Nvidia nForce 680i SLI MCP. This Chipset will replace nForce 590 SLI Intel released on June 2006. This is because of nForce 590 SLI Intel have problem with FSB above 1066 MHz.
