ATI RD790 Chipset Release 2007


ATI RD790 ChipsetThe next chipset by ATI that will be release in 2007, that is ATI RD790 chipset had integrated graphic card that DX 10 supported. This ATI RD790 chipset will support 52 PCIe lanes. This is enough to use until 3 PCIe 16X slots and a 4X slot. Until now was not yet known whether indeed was needed up to 3 PCIe 16X slots but at least can be heard very interesting.

Other feature of ATI RD790 is sound with HTX supported, enabled to be able to add additional card of processor and memory. This process will be pass on chipset and used Hypertransport.

AMD will Launch RD690 Chipset


AMD RD690 ChipsetAMD will launch RD690 chipset with AMD brand. Although was not the first AMD integrated graphically chipset that Vista supported (there are RD485 + X300), but RD690 chipset will make the difference in the integrated graphic.

RD690 will use northbridge RS690 and possibility southbridge SB600. The first motherboard producer that will use this chipset is Sapphire Pure Crossfire PC-AM2RD580. The combination of RS690 and SB600 will use graphic that similar X700 core with the socket AM2.

Intel Launched Dual-Core Xeon 5100


Intel Corp. Made an announcement launched of their dual-core Xeon 5100 series of processor . The processor that was named Woodcrest code was invested to more than 200 server models and workstation that was produced by more than 150 producers since last June 2006.

Target of this new processor, the segment of server market with high volume, communication, the storage, workstation, and the embedded segment. Based on micro architecture of Intel Core and 65nm technology processing, Xeon 5100 offered power efficiency with the better achievement.

“Micro Core Architecture was a technical innovation that guided us in the new era where the existence of power efficiency without influencing the achievement, made use of the performance 64-bit,” firm Paul Gelsinger (VP Senior and GM, Digital Enterprise Group Intel Corp.). The 5100 series was part of the Bensley platform.
