Parallels Workstation 2.2 Beta Version, High Performance Virtualization


HERNDON, Parallels announced the launching of their beta version software, Parallels Workstation 2.2 for Windows and Linux. Parallels Workstation 2.2 increased in performance, speed, stability of operation system as well as the virtual machine isolation that stronger compared with the previous version.

This application was launched two weeks after they launched beta version from Parallels Desktop Mac version. Parallels Workstation enabled user to running all the Windows versions, Linux distribution, Solaris, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OS/2, eComStation or DOS simultaneously in stable and safe virtual machine. Parallels could be running in a computer with Windows 2000 operation system, XP, Windows 2003 and all Linux versions.

Parallels Workstation 2.2 beta main features :

  • New Display and more user friendly.
  • Support for towards Secure Virtual Machine Technology (SVM) from AMD for better performance and stability virtual machine.
  • Better USB Support, including support for USB equipment that running under Windows Mobile 2005.
  • Better networking function, including automatic bridging inside network through default adapter. WiFi Supported for Linux, and the ability to change the network type and bridging briefly.
  • Better video graphic Supported, including support for dynamic video mode, custom video mode and video 32 bpp mode.
  • Better Full Screen mode where the screen of operation system measurement on virtual machine automatically would be smaller in accordance with the original resolution.
  • Better Playback audio and recording.
  • Better Parallels Tool Package so the Parallels Workstation use could be more comfortable.
  • Comprehensive Image Parallels Tool to help user made the ISO image quickly.
